Odin Works
The Odin Works 22 ARC 16 DMR Intermediate Gas System barrel brings a modern, high-performance cartridge to your AR-15 platform without sacrificing the accuracy and velocity consistency you need for designated marksman work. Built on 416R stainless steel with a 16.1-inch profile and 1:7 twist, this barrel is engineered specifically for the 22 ARC (Advanced Rifle Cartridge)—a compact round that delivers ballistics rivaling larger cartridges like the 22-250, yet feeds through your standard AR-15 lower. The included tunable gas block and intermediate gas tube let you dial in reliability and recoil management for your preferred ammunition, a feature that separates purpose-built ARs from one-size-fits-all builds.
The 22 ARC was designed from the ground up using modern, high-ballistic-coefficient bullets—think 62-grain ELD-VT projectiles—paired with a chamber geometry that prioritizes consistent velocity and tight shot groups. If you've appreciated Odin's meticulous approach to the 6mm ARC, you'll recognize that same engineering philosophy here: cartridge and chamber designed in concert for real-world accuracy. The 1/2-28 threaded muzzle accepts standard AR accessories, and Odin backs the barrel with a 1 MOA accuracy guarantee, so you can trust what you're putting together.
This is the right choice if you're building a mid-range hunting or precision rifle on the AR platform and want to step beyond 5.56 without the complexity or recoil of larger magnum cartridges. The intermediate gas system strikes a balance—plenty of dwell time for reliable cycling without the sharp impulse of rifle-length systems in a compact package. Pair it with a solid upper receiver, bolt carrier group, and quality 22 ARC ammunition, and you've got a DMR that handles like an AR and shoots like a specialized platform.
| Caliber | 22 ARC |
| Barrel Length | 16.1 inches |
| Material | 416R Stainless Steel |
| Twist Rate | 1:7 |
| Muzzle Thread | 1/2-28 |
| Gas System | Intermediate |
| Included Components | Tunable gas block, intermediate gas tube |
| Accuracy Guarantee | 1 MOA |
The 22 ARC (Advanced Rifle Cartridge) is a modern intermediate cartridge designed to deliver rifle-class ballistics—comparable to 22-250 performance—in a compact round that fits standard AR-15 magazines and platforms. It uses high-ballistic-coefficient bullets like the 62-grain ELD-VT, giving you superior range performance, wind resistance, and energy retention compared to 5.56 NATO, while remaining significantly flatter-shooting and more controllable than magnum cartridges.
Yes. The tunable gas block and intermediate gas tube are included with the barrel. This lets you adjust gas port pressure to optimize reliability and recoil impulse for your specific ammunition and setup without additional purchases.
Intermediate gas (mid-length) falls between carbine and rifle-length gas systems in terms of dwell time and port location. On a 16.1-inch barrel, it provides reliable cycling while reducing bolt velocity and recoil impulse compared to carbine-length systems, making for a smoother, more controllable shooting experience.
Yes. The 22 ARC's ballistics—especially with modern hunting bullets—make it effective for medium-game hunting at distance, and the intermediate gas system keeps the rifle handy and manageable. The 1 MOA accuracy guarantee supports precision shooting for ethical hunting scenarios where shot placement matters.
