Obsidian Arms
The Obsidian Arms AR-15 Complete Armorer's 12 Piece Punch Set is built for builders and gunsmiths who need a single toolkit to handle AR platform assembly and disassembly from start to finish. Whether you're a first-time builder working on your first lower receiver or a seasoned armorer turning out rifles, having the right punches—and enough of them—makes the difference between a smooth build and a frustrating afternoon of improvising. This set was developed in consultation with professional armorers and covers everything you'll actually reach for on an AR-15: starter punches, roll-pin punches, flat-sided punches for the bolt-catch pin, a Delrin punch to protect finished surfaces, a drift pin, and a specialized tool for pivot-pin detent installation. No more hunting through your drawer or borrowing from a buddy.
All 12 punches are forged from 4140 alloy steel, heat-treated and QPQ-finished to resist corrosion and stand up to repeated use. The material choice matters—4140 steel holds up to the repeated strikes involved in gunsmithing work without chipping or deforming. That durability is backed by a lifetime warranty; if you break a punch during normal use, Obsidian Arms replaces it at no cost. It's the kind of guarantee you don't often see in gunsmithing tools, and it reflects confidence in the manufacturing process.
If you're building AR-15s—whether that's a one-time project or the start of a hobby—this punch set eliminates the guesswork about what size and type you need. It's also compact enough to keep in a range bag or workshop without taking up serious real estate. Serious builders and shops appreciate having redundancy; this set gives you enough dedicated tools that you're never hunting for the right punch while your workbench is in the middle of a build.
