North American Rescue
The North American Rescue Gen 7 C.A.T. tourniquet is a one-handed hemorrhage control device designed for tactical, hunting, and emergency first aid use. Built on decades of combat medicine refinement, this tourniquet uses a durable windlass system with a free-moving internal band that delivers true circumferential pressure to stop life-threatening bleeding from extremity wounds. Once tightened, the windlass locks in place and is secured with a hook-and-loop retention strap, keeping steady pressure during evacuation or transport—no screws or clips to fumble with when fine motor control is compromised by stress or injury.
The Gen 7 design eliminates single points of failure: the dual securing system (windlass plus retention strap) keeps the tourniquet locked down without relying on small mechanical components that can slip or fail under duress. The free-moving band conforms to the shape of the limb, distributing force more evenly than rigid designs. This approach has proven effective across military, law enforcement, and civilian emergency response—trusted hardware when seconds matter.
Compact and lightweight, the black Gen 7 C.A.T. fits easily in a medical kit, range bag, vehicle, or tactical gear setup. Whether you're building a hunting first aid kit, outfitting a truck for overlanding, or maintaining a range-day emergency response setup, this tourniquet is a no-nonsense tool backed by real-world field use and clinical validation. Understanding how to deploy a tourniquet is essential; if you're new to hemorrhage control, pair this with proper training from a qualified instructor.
Yes. The tourniquet is compact and lightweight, making it a practical addition to a hunting daypack, vehicle first aid kit, or overlanding medicine bag. Many hunters and outdoor enthusiasts carry one as part of their emergency preparedness gear.
After tightening the windlass until bleeding stops, you secure the windlass in place with the hook-and-loop retention strap. This two-step system provides redundancy and keeps steady pressure on the extremity during casualty movement or evacuation, without relying on screws or clips that can loosen under stress.
Yes. Proper application technique is essential for effectiveness and safety. Seek training from a qualified first aid or trauma medicine instructor before relying on a tourniquet in an emergency.
