Next Level Armament
Building or maintaining an AR-15 or AR-10 means paying attention to the small details that make the gun feel right and function smoother. The Next Level Armament Ascend Armory Mod2 QD End Plate and Castle Nut Kit gives you both in one upgrade—a machined aluminum end plate with an angled QD attachment point, paired with a locking castle nut that requires no staking. If you're tired of wrestling with traditional quick-detach sling mounts or dealing with complicated nut-locking procedures, this kit streamlines the rear of your rifle while maintaining rock-solid stability.
The real genius here is the 20-degree angle on the QD point. That slight tilt makes it genuinely easier to attach and remove your sling or other QD gear without fumbling or contorting your hand. The castle nut uses a set screw to lock in place, which means you skip the staking step entirely—a win if you don't have a castle nut stake tool or just want to avoid the extra work. Both the end plate and nut are machined from 7075 aluminum, keeping weight negligible while maintaining the strength you need for hard use.
This kit works with both AR-15 and AR-308 (AR-10) platforms, so whether you're running a mid-length modern rifle or a larger-caliber build, you've got a compatible upgrade. Made and finished in the USA with anodized aluminum, it's a modest but thoughtful improvement that rewards attention to quality. If you're the type to invest in good gear across your rifle—from optics down to the buffer tube—this end plate kit fits that philosophy.
