The NcStar Mark III 3-9x42mm riflescope puts affordable magnification within reach for hunters and shooters who need reliable glass without breaking the bank. This scope covers the versatile 3-9x magnification range—ideal for hunting medium game at typical field distances or setting up a dependable range scope. The 42mm objective lens gathers solid light for dawn and dusk hunting, and the mil-dot reticle gives you a holdover system that works whether you're dialing your turrets or using the reticle itself to compensate for distance and wind.

The Mark III features fully multi-coated optics to maximize light transmission and contrast, and the quick-focus eyepiece gets you on target fast without fumbling. Its black finish is durable and resists glint in the field. The scope is calibrated for M193 55-grain ammunition and covers the 100–500 yard range with a ballistic-drop compensator, making it a practical choice if you're working up a load or shooting standard mil-surp. At 3x magnification you get a wide field of view—36.8 feet at 100 yards—useful for locating and tracking game in thick cover; crank it to 9x for precise target work at distance.

This is honest, no-frills optics: not a high-end competition or long-range tool, but a straightforward hunting and range scope that has earned its place on countless working rifles. NcStar built its reputation on delivering quality glass and accessories at prices that don't demand a second mortgage, and the Mark III carries that tradition forward.

Frequently Asked Questions

What rifles and cartridges is the NcStar Mark III compatible with?

The Mark III's mil-dot reticle and BDC calibration are tuned for M193 55-grain ammunition, making it a natural fit for AR-15s and other .223 Rem platforms. The reticle and magnification range suit any hunting rifle or tactical setup, though you may need to verify ring compatibility and Picatinny mount fitment with your specific platform.

Is the mil-dot reticle illuminated?

The product name and specifications provided do not indicate illumination. The Mark III is equipped with a mil-dot reticle; if you require an illuminated reticle, check our full catalog or contact us for current options.

What magnification should I use for hunting?

The 3x setting delivers a wide 36.8-foot field of view at 100 yards, making it excellent for locating and tracking game in timber or brush. Magnify to 9x for longer-range shots, precision shooting at the range, or when you need to spot details. The 3-9x range covers most hunting situations without the bulk or weight penalty of a fixed high-power scope.

How does the field of view compare to other 3-9x scopes?

The Mark III delivers 36.8 feet of field of view at 3x and 12 feet at 9x—solid numbers for a general-purpose hunting scope in its class. A wider field of view at low power helps you find and follow moving game; the narrower field at 9x is a trade-off for magnification and precision.
