The MTM Wind Reader Shooting Range Flag is a precision wind indicator built for serious marksmen who need to read conditions across their shooting lane. Wind deflection is one of the biggest variables in accuracy at distance, and a properly placed range flag lets you monitor wind speed and direction without leaving your firing position. This flag is engineered to detect even light breezes, making it an essential tool for long-range shooters, precision rifle competitors, and ammunition testers who can't afford to miss wind changes between shots.
Setup is straightforward: the flag mounts on a base that positions it 33 inches off the ground—high enough to read true wind current, low enough to stay in your sight picture zone. The dimensions (15.6 inches long by 5 inches tall) give you a readable target that's visible from downrange without being unwieldy on a crowded shooting line. When you're done for the day, the mounting poles collapse flat against the flag face, so the entire rig stores compactly in your gear bag or range kit.
The long tail ribbon included with the flag serves as your wind speed gauge. Watch how it moves and angles to interpret wind strength—something you learn quickly with a little trigger time. Pair this with flags positioned at 100 yards, 300 yards, and your target distance, and you'll develop a real sense for how conditions affect bullet flight. It's the kind of simple, durable accessory that pays dividends in consistency, whether you're validating handloads, preparing for a precision match, or just sharpening your wind-reading skills.
