The Mace Brand Personal Alarm Keychain in Neon Pink is a compact, high-decibel safety device designed to attract attention and deter threats in an emergency. At 130dB, this personal alarm delivers a loud, piercing shriek when activated—loud enough to startle an attacker and alert people nearby to your situation. It's sized to clip onto your keychain, making it easy to carry in your pocket, purse, or bag wherever you go, whether you're commuting, traveling, running errands, or heading out after dark. This is a straightforward, non-lethal personal protection tool that works when seconds count.

Operation is intentionally simple: press the front button to sound the alarm. To silence it and reset the unit, you'll use a separate button on the back—a design that prevents accidental deactivation and ensures the alarm stays on until you deliberately stop it. The bright neon pink color serves double duty: it's easy to locate quickly in a bag or pocket, and the visible keychain itself can act as a visual deterrent.

Personal alarms suit runners, students, solo travelers, night-shift workers, and anyone who wants an accessible, affordable layer of personal safety. Unlike other self-defense tools, an alarm requires no training or special licensing to carry, making it an inclusive option for people of all ages and abilities. The Mace keychain alarm is a no-excuses addition to your everyday carry kit.

Frequently Asked Questions

How loud is 130dB, and can people really hear it from far away?

130dB is extremely loud—comparable to a chainsaws or fireworks. It will definitely be heard by people at a significant distance and is designed to attract immediate attention in an emergency.

Can I accidentally turn off the alarm once I've activated it?

No. The rear button is the only way to deactivate and silence the alarm, so once you press the front button to activate it, it won't shut off by accident.

Is this legal to carry and use?

Personal alarms are legal to carry and use in all U.S. states. Unlike some self-defense tools, they require no permit, license, or training to own or deploy.

What's the best place to keep the keychain alarm so I can access it quickly?

Many users attach it to their keys in a bag or pocket, or keep it on a lanyard or clip within arm's reach. The compact size and bright color make it easy to locate quickly in low-light situations.
