Strike King
The Strike King Mr. Crappie Jack Knife 1" spoon is a compact, two-way performer that handles both casting and vertical jigging—a real advantage when you're working shallow structure, brushpiles, or suspended fish in creeks and lakes. At just an inch long, this spoon is sized right for crappie, bluegill, and other panfish that won't commit to larger offerings. The Tuxedo Black Chartreuse finish cuts through murky water and low-light conditions, making it visible to fish when they're least active. The hand-tied feather treble adds natural action and softness that improves hook-up rates on finicky biters.
You get real versatility here: pitch it on light spinning gear and work it with short, snappy rod movements for aggressive feeding periods, or drop it straight down through trees and cover where crappie school up. The hand-tied feathers breathe and flutter with minimal movement, which matters when fish are picky. Whether you're fishing a tournament, spring spawn, or just filling the cooler on a weekend trip, this spoon earns its place in your panfish box.
Strike King's Mr. Crappie line was developed with legendary angler Wally Marshall, and it shows in the practical design and finish selection. This is working gear, not eye candy—but it catches fish, and that's what matters.
Yes. The small size and hand-tied feather treble are well-suited to shallow spawn periods when crappie move to beds and brush. You can cast it or work it vertically around cover, and the feathers trigger bites during low-activity windows.
Absolutely. That's one of the spoon's primary strengths. Drop it through timber, creek brush, and dock pilings—the compact 1-inch profile lets you work tight cover that larger spoons can't access efficiently.
Light spinning gear is ideal. The small weight and size pair well with ultra-light to light action rods and 4–6 lb. monofilament or braided line, giving you the sensitivity to feel strikes and the control to work the lure precisely.
