The Mossberg Patriot Walnut .308 Win bolt-action rifle delivers a no-nonsense platform for hunters and shooters who value reliability and classic aesthetics. Model 27861 pairs a proven bolt-action design with the versatile .308 Winchester cartridge—a standard choice for medium-range hunting, target shooting, and field work across North America. The walnut furniture strikes a balance between traditional appeal and practical performance, while the matte blue finish resists glare and corrosion without the weight and gloss of polished steel.

Built on Mossberg's reputation for straightforward, durable firearms, the Patriot is at home in the field or on the range. The 22-inch barrel gives you manageable weight—7 pounds total—and a quick-handling length of 42.75 inches overall, making it suitable for hunting from a truck, stalking through timber, or zeroing at distance. The 1:10 twist rate stabilizes factory .308 ammunition reliably across the typical hunting and match loads available today.

The 5+1 capacity (five rounds in the magazine, one in the chamber) is standard for hunting in most jurisdictions and keeps the rifle lean for field carry. This is a rifle for shooters who appreciate function over flash—no tactical doodads, no proprietary parts that drive you to the manufacturer catalog. If you're after a solid, affordable bolt-action .308 that won't demand constant attention, this Patriot deserves a close look.
