Mossberg
The Mossberg 590 Shockwave is a 12-gauge pump-action shotgun built for shooters who want serious firepower in a compact, maneuverable package. With a 7-round capacity (6+1), the Model 50639 delivers the fast follow-up shots that pump shotguns are known for, all in a short-barreled platform that excels in home defense, tactical training, and close-quarters work. The Raptor Grip and corn cob forend with strap give you confident control and a solid grip surface even when things get fast.
At 18.5 inches, the barrel is short enough to navigate tight spaces without sacrificing the velocity and spread control that makes shotguns so versatile. The cylinder bore choke and matte blued finish on the heavy-walled barrel strike the classic balance between durability and low maintenance—no fussy coatings, just proven Mossberg reliability. The simple bead sight keeps target acquisition straightforward, whether you're practicing on steel or deploying the gun for real-world use.
The Shockwave trades the traditional stock for the Raptor Grip and corn cob forend setup, a design that opens up shooting styles beyond conventional shouldering. The included strap adds another carry option. This shotgun handles 3-inch shells, so you've got flexibility in ammunition choice—12-gauge ammunition runs the gamut from light target loads to serious buckshot and slugs. It's a no-frills, purpose-built gun for shooters who prioritize handling and speed over ergonomic comfort.

The 590 Shockwave is chambered for 3-inch 12-gauge shells, giving you access to a wide range of loads—target birdshot, buckshot, and slugs all work. Mossberg pump shotguns are not picky about quality ammunition, though as always, you should test any new load for reliable feeding and ejection in your gun.
The Raptor Grip replaces a conventional stock, and the design is intentional. It reduces overall length for tight-space handling and opens up non-shouldered shooting positions. The corn cob forend and strap provide comfortable control and carry options. If you prefer a traditional stock and trigger guard, Mossberg makes other 590 configurations that may suit you better.
The compact 18.5-inch barrel, fast pump action, and 7-round capacity make the Shockwave a popular choice for home defense. Its size works well in hallways and tight spaces. As with any firearm used for self-defense, responsibility for safe, legal, and effective use rests with the shooter and owner.
The Shockwave ships with the Raptor Grip, corn cob forend, and strap as described. Always refer to the manufacturer documentation for a complete list of included components and accessories.
