The Mossberg 590 Cruiser is a compact 12-gauge tactical shotgun built for home defense, vehicle storage, and close-quarters situations where maneuverability matters. This is a serious working gun: the 18.5-inch barrel keeps the overall length at just 31 inches, making it nimble enough to handle tight spaces without sacrificing the firepower of a full-size shotgun. With a 6+1 round capacity, you've got reliable magazine-fed capacity when it counts, and the 3-inch chamber handles both 2.75-inch and 3-inch loads.

The 590 Cruiser is stripped down for function. Its synthetic pistol-grip stock (black) and matte blued barrel finish aren't fancy, but they're durable and corrosion-resistant—built to stay reliable in less-than-ideal conditions. The white-dot sight gives you a fast target acquisition point, while the cylinder-bore choke keeps patterns manageable at defensive distances. This is a gun that does one job and does it well, whether you're securing your home, keeping one in the truck, or training at the range.

Weighing 5.75 pounds, the 590 Cruiser handles smoothly and doesn't wear you out over a long shooting session. Mossberg's proven pedigree with their 500/590 platform means you're working with a shotgun that has decades of real-world use and aftermarket support behind it. If you need a tactical 12-gauge that's compact, reliable, and no-nonsense, the 590 Cruiser delivers.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the 590 Cruiser and a standard 590?

The Cruiser is optimized for maneuverability with an 18.5-inch barrel and 31-inch overall length, making it ideal for home defense and vehicle storage where compactness is an advantage. It uses a synthetic pistol-grip stock instead of traditional furniture, and ships with a white-dot sight for fast target work.

Can the 590 Cruiser shoot both 2.75-inch and 3-inch shells?

Yes. The 3-inch chamber accepts both 2.75-inch and 3-inch 12-gauge ammunition, giving you flexibility with your ammo choices.

Is the pistol grip stock comfortable for extended shooting?

The synthetic pistol grip is designed for tactical control and handling in confined spaces. Some shooters find pistol grips more limiting for comfort during extended range sessions compared to traditional stocks, so try one before committing if comfort during practice is a priority.

Will the 590 Cruiser accept aftermarket parts?

The Mossberg 500/590 platform has decades of real-world use and excellent aftermarket support, so you'll find slings, sights, stocks, and other upgrades readily available from third-party manufacturers.
