Mossberg
The Mossberg 590A1 Pro is a purpose-built 12 gauge pump-action shotgun designed for serious defensive work, duty use, and tactical applications. This model pairs proven reliability with modern features: a heavy-walled barrel in Marinecote finish resists corrosion in wet and humid conditions, while the silver receiver gets the same corrosion-resistant treatment. The 6+1 capacity (six rounds in the tube plus one in the chamber) and 18.50" barrel give you quick target acquisition without sacrificing magazine volume—a real advantage in close-quarters scenarios where pump shotguns excel.
Mossberg built this gun with agencies and professionals in mind. Dual extractors and steel-to-steel lockup ensure reliability under stress, while the twin action bars and anti-jam elevator keep the gun running when it matters. The heavy-walled construction isn't just for show; it's engineered to handle hard use, regular cleaning, and the occasional neglect that real-world carry brings. The top-mounted ambidextrous safety lets you work the gun from either shoulder without hunting for controls.
The 590A1 Pro ships with metal ghost-ring sights (rear) and a front fiber-optic sight—a proven combination for faster target acquisition than plain iron sights. The receiver is optic-ready with a plate that removes to accept micro dot sights (RMSc footprint), so you can upgrade to a red dot if your mission demands it. The black synthetic Magpul SGA adjustable stock with spacers fits shooters with different length-of-pull needs (adjusts 12.25–14.25 inches), and the clean-out magazine tube design prevents fouling. Metal trigger guard and safety button add durability where contact happens most.
Whether you're setting up a duty gun, a home-defense shotgun, or a range workhorse, the Mossberg 590A1 Pro delivers the kind of no-nonsense performance that's made the 590 platform a favorite among professionals and serious civilians for decades.
