Mossberg
The Mossberg 28235 Patriot Carbine in 7mm PRC is a modern bolt-action hunting rifle built for hunters who want serious downrange performance without the bulk. This carbine pairs a compact 20-inch medium bull barrel with the flat-shooting power of 7mm PRC—a fast-growing magnum cartridge that delivers excellent velocity and energy retention at extended distances. The 3+1 capacity and fixed synthetic stock make it handy in the field, while the threaded barrel is ready for a suppressor or muzzle brake right out of the box.
Mossberg engineered the Patriot line for hunters who demand accuracy and reliability. The spiral-fluted bolt and oversized bolt handle cycle smoothly and inspire confidence when the moment comes. The receiver is topped with a Picatinny rail, so you can mount your choice of optic without adapter plates. The recessed match-grade barrel crown protects accuracy shot after shot, and the matte blue finish paired with the black synthetic stock delivers a no-nonsense aesthetic that works in timber, high desert, or mountain country.
What really sets the Patriot apart is the adjustable LBA trigger—a user-tunable design that lets you dial in pull weight anywhere from 2 to 7 pounds. That means you can fine-tune the let-off to your hand and hunting style. The medium bull barrel adds some heft for better recoil control and thermal stability, especially valuable in 7mm PRC, which runs warm and fast. At 6.5 pounds with a 40.25-inch overall length, this carbine stays maneuverable without sacrificing the barrel length needed to unlock the cartridge's potential.
If you hunt elk, mule deer, or long-range targets and want a compact, fast-handling rifle that doesn't compromise on ballistic performance, the Mossberg Patriot Carbine deserves a serious look.
