Montana X-Treme
A Montana X-Treme 17-20 Cal cleaning rod built to handle sustained, serious bore maintenance without compromise. This 36-inch one-piece rod is purpose-built for centerfire rifle shooters who demand precision and durability in their cleaning kit. Whether you're breaking in a new barrel, removing heavy fouling after a long range session, or performing routine maintenance, a quality cleaning rod that won't flex or bind is non-negotiable—and this purple-handled rod delivers.
The rod itself is coated spring steel, engineered to push brushes and jags through stubborn carbon and copper deposits without bending under pressure. The coating is proprietary and non-embedding, which means dirt and grit won't stick to the rod surface itself, protecting your bore from unnecessary scratching and contamination. That matters when you're running a tight-tolerance rifle that deserves respect.
Handling and control are equally important. The machined aluminum handle is slimmed down to fit between the rifle stock and the rod when you're cleaning from the breech—a practical design detail that shows Montana X-Treme understands how shooters actually work. The handle itself is comfortable and easy to grip for sustained control, and it features bearings at each end that let the rod rotate freely. That smooth rotation keeps your brush or jag in full contact with the rifling as you work, maximizing cleaning efficiency and minimizing wear. The soft aluminum ferrule at the threaded end adds a layer of protection to your gun's breech or muzzle, preventing dings and damage during use. The purple color coding also makes it easy to grab the right-caliber rod in a multi-caliber cleaning collection.

The rod is threaded and designed to accept standard brush and jag attachments in the 17-20 caliber range. Check your brush or jag packaging to confirm compatibility with this caliber size.
The rotating bearings at each end of the handle allow the rod to spin freely as you clean, which keeps your brush or jag in consistent contact with the rifling. This improves cleaning effectiveness and reduces unnecessary wear on the bore.
