Montana Decoy
The Montana Decoy Sitting Coyote Decoy is a visual enticer designed to bring wary predators within effective range during your calling sequences. Based on a photograph of a wild coyote, this decoy captures a calm, seated posture with forward-facing attention—the kind of natural, confident body language that triggers curiosity in passing coyotes. Whether you're hunting early season when coyotes are still learning the landscape or working through peak activity periods, adding a realistic visual component to your setup can be the difference between a missed opportunity and a successful stand.
Montana Decoy engineered this model for the field hunter who values both effectiveness and practicality. It breaks down into a compact folded size for easy transport in your pack or truck, then deploys quickly when you've located sign or are ready to work a stand. The included leg pole secures the decoy and allows you to position it naturally within your calling setup. At just 13.5 ounces with the pole, it won't add significant weight to your rig, yet its lifelike proportions and pose command attention from predators scanning the area.
Predator hunting rewards hunters who layer their advantage—good call sequences, wind discipline, and concealment all matter, but adding a visual anchor often tips the scales. A sitting coyote that appears relaxed and content tells incoming predators that the area is safe, which can draw them straight to your position. Use it across any season or landscape where coyotes hunt, from open country to brushy terrain where a small set will hold its own.
| Unfolded Dimensions | 31 x 16 inches |
| Folded Dimensions | 9 x 10 inches |
| Weight (with pole) | 13.5 oz |
| Included Accessories | Leg pole |
Yes. The sitting posture and calm forward-facing expression are designed to appear non-threatening and curious rather than aggressive, which can appeal to wary predators that might otherwise avoid a calling stand.
When folded, it measures 9 x 10 inches, making it easy to stash alongside other gear. At 13.5 ounces total with the pole, it won't burden your load.
The leg pole is included with the decoy, so you can set it up and position it in the field right out of the box.
Yes. The compact design and included pole let you deploy it in open country, brushy areas, or anywhere you're running a calling setup during your coyote hunting season.
