The Midwest Industries Combat Flip-Up Rear Sight for AR-15 is a backup iron sight (BUIS) built to co-witness with standard A2 front-sight gas blocks and work alongside modern optics like red-dot systems. Whether you're running a rifle with just irons or layering in redundancy behind a primary optic, this flip-up rear sight gives you a reliable secondary aiming solution that stows out of the way when you don't need it.

Midwest Industries engineered this sight from ordnance-grade steel and 6061 aluminum to balance durability with weight savings—important when every ounce matters on a duty or hunting rifle. When deployed, the aperture is height-matched to military specifications for seamless co-witnessing with A2 front sights. Collapsed, the sight sits just .388 inches above the receiver, minimizing snag points and clearing your sight picture. Dual-locking detent springs keep the sight firmly in position, whether up or down, and the windage and elevation adjustments offer 0.5 MOA click increments for fine-tuning your zero. Installation is straightforward: the torque-clamp mounting system secures to your rifle with a single screw at 35 inch-pounds. Made in the USA, this is the kind of purpose-built component serious shooters trust when backup sights matter.

If you're building a rifle that needs dependable iron-sight backup—whether for 3-gun, tactical carbine courses, or just covering your bases—this flip-up rear sight is a proven choice that won't let you down.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this flip-up rear sight co-witness with my A2 front sight?

Yes. The aperture height is designed to military specifications and will align properly with standard A2 front-sight gas blocks for a true co-witness setup.

Can I use this sight with a red-dot or other mounted optic?

Yes. When folded, the sight sits low enough (.388" above the receiver) to remain clear of most primary optics mounted on the upper receiver, making it a practical backup iron sight for modern optics-primary setups.

How do I install the Midwest Industries combat rear sight?

The sight uses a torque-clamp mounting system that attaches with a single screw. Tighten the screw to 35 inch-pounds for proper installation.

What does the dual-locking detent spring system do?

The dual springs hold the sight securely in either the up or down position, preventing it from accidentally folding or deploying during use or handling.
