The Maxim Defense MXM47570 JP Silent Captured Spring Standard is a purpose-built recoil management component engineered for AR-platform rifles running the Maxim Defense CQB Stock System. This tungsten and stainless steel captured spring assembly is designed to work exclusively with the Maxim CQB stock, delivering a tuned, quiet spring response that reduces the mechanical noise signature of your rifle's action cycle—a real advantage in close-quarters or noise-sensitive shooting environments.

What sets this captured spring apart is its engineering: the JP Silent system uses a guide rod that routes through an open channel in your bolt carrier group, which means you'll need a compatible BCG (available through JP Enterprises) to run this setup. If you're already invested in the Maxim CQB stock platform, this component unlocks the full potential of that system by pairing a precision-engineered spring with materials chosen for durability and consistent performance. It's not a universal part, but for shooters committed to the Maxim ecosystem, it's the right call.

Built from tungsten and stainless steel, the MXM47570 is engineered to handle repeated cycling without sacrificing the noise-dampening qualities that make captured spring systems attractive for tactical, HD, or suppressed-rifle builds. This is a quality-tier component that reflects Maxim's attention to system integration rather than piecemeal upgrades.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this captured spring work with any AR-platform stock?

No. The Maxim Defense MXM47570 is designed exclusively for the Maxim Defense CQB Stock System. It will not work as a universal or drop-in replacement for other stock platforms.

What bolt carrier group do I need to run this spring?

You need a compatible BCG from JP Enterprises that features an open channel to allow the guide rod to pass through during firing. Standard BCGs will not work with this captured spring system.

Why is a captured spring better for my rifle?

Captured spring systems reduce the mechanical noise of the action cycling and keep the spring fully contained within the assembly. This makes them popular for suppressed builds, tactical rifles, and shooters looking to minimize the sound signature of their firearm's operation.
