The Magpul PMAG GEN M3 30-round magazine is the modern standard for AR-15, M4, and M16 platform rifles chambered in 5.56 NATO/.223 Remington. Whether you're running a duty rifle, a competition gun, or a hunting AR, this Coyote Tan polymer magazine delivers the reliability and durability that have made Magpul's PMAGs the go-to choice for shooters who need their gear to work when it counts. The GEN M3 represents the next evolution of the platform—tougher materials, smarter geometry, and thoughtful design details that make a real difference in the field or on the range.

Built with impact and crush-resistant polymer and incorporating Magpul's constant-curve internal geometry, the GEN M3 feeds rounds smoothly and reliably through bolt cycles. The anti-tilt, self-lubricating follower and long-life stainless steel spring ensure consistent feeding under all conditions. A redesigned bolt catch notch provides increased clearance, and an over-travel stop prevents the magazine from over-inserting into compatible weapons—details that matter when you're counting on your mag to perform. The floorplate is easier to disassemble for cleaning, flared for positive extraction, and intentionally slimmed down so it actually fits in double and triple mag pouches without forcing or binding.

The Coyote Tan finish blends seamlessly with most tactical and hunting rigs. Low-profile ribs and aggressive texture on the front and rear give you a solid grip whether you're wearing gloves or working bare-handed. A paint pen dot matrix on the bottom lets you mark loads for quick ID when you need it. Made in the USA, this magazine handles wide compatibility with STANAG 4179 platforms beyond just Colt-spec rifles, so it's a safe choice for most modern 5.56 systems.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will a GEN M3 PMAG work with my AR-15?

Yes. The GEN M3 is optimized for Colt-spec AR-15, M4, and M16 platforms and is fully compatible with standard AR magazines. The magazine also features modified geometry for broader compatibility with STANAG 4179 platforms, including select HK, FN, and other modern rifle systems.

Can I use this magazine in tactical gear with magazine pouches?

Absolutely. The floorplate on the GEN M3 is intentionally slimmer than previous generations, making it compatible with most double and triple magazine pouches without binding or friction during insertion and removal.

How do I disassemble the magazine for cleaning?

The GEN M3 features tool-less disassembly. The redesigned flared floorplate can be easily removed by hand, allowing you to access the interior spring and follower for quick cleaning and maintenance.

What's included in the paint pen dot matrix on the base?

The dot matrix pattern on the bottom of the magazine allows you to mark different ammunition loads or loads with a paint pen, making it easy to identify and organize your magazines by type or purpose.
