The Magpul MAG013-ODG Ladder Panel for AR-platform rifles is a practical handguard accessory that solves a real problem: sharp Picatinny rail edges that dig into your hands, snag slings, and wear through gear during shooting and fieldwork. This OD green panel snaps into unused cross slots on your rail system, protecting both you and your equipment while adding grip and weapon control without bulk.

Built from Santoprene thermoplastic elastomer—a rubbery, slip-resistant material—the ladder panel maintains an ultra-low profile so your handguard stays slim and maneuverable. It covers 18 slots in its standard form, but you're not locked into that length; the panel is easily trimmed with a knife to fit custom lengths and work around mounted optics, lights, or other rail-mounted gear. Installation and removal are straightforward: snap it in place, and when you need to pull it off, just pry up a corner and peel it away.

Whether you're running a carbine at the range, in the field hunting, or setting up a tactical rifle for serious shooting, the Magpul ladder panel is a no-nonsense way to protect your hands and gear from the wear and tear that comes with hard use. It's the kind of small upgrade that experienced AR builders and shooters add without thinking twice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the ladder panel fit my AR-15 handguard?

The Magpul ladder panel is designed for AR-platform rifles with Picatinny rail systems. It snaps into the cross slots on your rail, so as long as your handguard has standard Picatinny rails with open cross slots, it will work.

Can I cut it to a shorter length?

Yes. The panel comes covering 18 slots but can be easily trimmed to custom lengths with a knife to fit between mounted accessories or to cover just the portion of rail you want protected.

How do I install and remove it?

Installation is simple: snap the ladder panel into the unused cross slots on your Picatinny rail. To remove it, just pry up a corner and peel it away—no tools required.

What is it made of?

The ladder panel is manufactured from Santoprene thermoplastic elastomer, a rubbery, slip-resistant material that provides good grip while protecting against sharp edges and gear snag.
