The Magpul Hunter X-22 Takedown Forend is a purpose-built replacement forend for shooters running the Hunter X-22 Takedown Stock on their Ruger 10/22 Takedown rifle. If you're serious about getting the most out of a modular 10/22—swapping barrels for different roles, dialing in accuracy, or building a rifle that adapts to your needs—this forend is how you do it. Made from reinforced polymer, it's tough enough for field use and light enough that it won't bog down your setup.

What sets this forend apart is its thoughtful engineering for the takedown platform. The reversible barrel tray accommodates both factory pencil-profile barrels and heavier bull barrels up to 0.920" outside diameter, so barrel swaps are genuinely plug-and-play. The adjustable barrel-tensioning shim lets you tune preload for accuracy—dial it in tight for precision shooting, or leave the barrel free-floated if that's your preference. M-LOK slots on the sides and bottom give you modular real estate for slings, bipods, and other gear without requiring permanent modifications.

The forend includes a dimpled drill point at the bottom for installing optional sling swivel studs, and it's US-made, which matters when you're counting on reliability in the field. This is a serious upgrade for anyone treating their takedown 10/22 as a real rifle, not a range toy.
