Lmt Defense
The LMT Monolithic 5.56×45 NATO 10.5" carbine-length barrel is purpose-built for short-stroke, compact rifle builds and close-quarters work. Engineered specifically for LMT's monolithic receiver platform, this barrel integrates a low-profile gas block and straight gas tube into a cohesive system that minimizes complexity and maximizes reliability. The included A2 birdcage flash hider helps control muzzle signature in tight spaces—a real advantage for CQB-oriented shooters and entry teams. Whether you're building a truck gun, home defense carbine, or SBR, this is a no-compromise component from one of the most respected names in precision small-arms manufacturing.
Built from chromoly steel and finished with a hard coat that stands up to hard use, the barrel features a 1:7" right-hand twist optimized for the widest range of 5.56 ammunition. Chrome lining protects the bore and chamber from corrosion and heat stress, extending service life even under sustained fire. The cryogenic treatment applied during manufacture enhances durability at the molecular level—a hallmark of LMT's engineering standards.
This is the 10.5" carbine-length configuration, the shortest practical option for 5.56 direct-impingement systems. LMT also offers this same barrel in 11.5", 12.5", 14.5", 16", and 20" lengths if you're considering other build configurations. All versions use the same rigorous manufacture standards and are designed to work seamlessly with LMT's ecosystem.
| Caliber | 5.56×45 NATO (.223) |
| Barrel Length | 10.5" |
| Twist Rate | 1:7" RH |
| Material | Chromoly Steel |
| Bore Finish | Chrome Lined |
| Gas System | Direct Impingement |
| Gas Block | Low-Profile, Monolithic Integration |
| Muzzle Device | A2 Birdcage Flash Hider |
| Platform | LMT Monolithic Receiver Compatible |
| Finish | Black |
No. This barrel is designed specifically for LMT's monolithic receiver platform. Its integrated gas block and tube design make it incompatible with standard AR-15 upper receivers or other non-LMT monolithic systems.
The monolithic construction eliminates the gas block as a separate component, reducing assembly complexity and potential failure points. The integrated low-profile gas block and straight gas tube create a more rigid, unified system that LMT customers report runs reliably under demanding conditions.
The barrel ships with an A2 birdcage flash hider as shown. We don't have specifications on removal or modification; contact LMT directly or your local gunsmith for questions about muzzle device changes.
The 1:7" twist is a versatile, general-purpose rate that stabilizes the full range of common 5.56×45 ammunition, from lighter target loads to heavier tactical and hunting rounds. You won't have stability problems with standard-issue or commercial ammo in this configuration.
