Lee Precisiom
The Lee Semi-Wadcutter Pistol Mould is built for reloaders who cast bullets in serious volume. This 6-cavity aluminum mould throws .358" semi-wadcutter bullets at 158 grains—a proven design for target work and moderate-velocity handgun loads. Whether you're feeding a competition pistol or working up loads for hunting, casting your own semi-wadcutters lets you dial in exactly what you need without the markup of factory ammo.
Lee chose aluminum for this mould for good reason. Yes, it's softer than blued steel, but that's actually an advantage at the casting bench. Aluminum is light enough that extended casting sessions won't wear out your hand and arm the way a heavier mould will. It heats and cools faster, too—meaning shorter cycles and more bullets per session. And unlike steel, aluminum won't rust, even if you leave it sitting in the shop between casting marathons.
The block halves are CNC machined to tight tolerances, so you get consistent, well-formed bullets with minimal sprue work. The hard anodized sprue plate includes cam control, giving you reliable ejection and repeatability run after run. Keep in mind that handles are sold separately—pair this mould with Lee handles of your choice to get casting.
| Bullet Diameter | .358" |
| Bullet Weight | 158 grains |
| Bullet Style | Semi-Wadcutter |
| Cavities | 6 |
| Material | Aluminum |
| Sprue Plate | Hard anodized with cam control |
| Construction | CNC machined |
Yes—this mould comes without handles. You'll need to purchase Lee handles separately and attach them to this mould block to start casting.
This mould casts .358" semi-wadcutter bullets at 158 grains, suitable for moderate-velocity pistol loads in calibers like .38 Special, .357 Magnum, and similar platforms used for target shooting and hunting.
Aluminum is lighter, reducing hand and arm fatigue during long casting sessions, heats and cools faster for quicker cycles, and won't rust. The tradeoff is that aluminum is softer than steel, but Lee's CNC machining and hard anodized sprue plate ensure consistent performance and longevity.
Each pour from this 6-cavity mould yields six bullets. The exact cycle time depends on your setup, lead temperature, and casting technique.
