Lee Precisiom
The Lee Precision 7.62x39mm Rifle Precision Micrometer Bullet Seating Die brings repeatable, dead-length seating control to AK and other 7.62x39 reloading. Whether you're fine-tuning ammo for accuracy at the range or working up loads for hunting, this die's micrometer adjustment lets you dial in exact seating depth to the thousandth of an inch—without the guesswork or high-dollar price tag of premium alternatives.
What sets this die apart is its floating bullet guide. The guide holds the case and bullet in perfect alignment during the seating stroke, then reverses to let you seat and crimp in one operation—a feature unique to Lee's design. The machined and burnished seating stem handles nearly any bullet point style without marks or deformation, and the laser-engraved micrometer thimble reads intuitively, like a precision depth gauge you'd find in a machine shop.
Built for 7.62x39 brass, this die works best with Lee's standard reloading presses and follows the three-die workflow (resize, prime, seat/crimp). If you reload for military rifle calibers and want genuinely uniform seating depth without breaking the bank, this is a smart, no-nonsense choice.
| Caliber | 7.62x39mm |
| Die Type | Rifle bullet seating die |
| Adjustment | Micrometer, infinitely adjustable |
| Micrometer Divisions | 0.001" per mark |
| Special Features | Reversible floating bullet guide; dead-length seating |
Yes, this die is compatible with Lee's standard reloading presses (Single Stage, Turret, and Progressive). It follows Lee's standard 7/8" x 14 TPI thread pattern and works as part of a three-die set for 7.62x39 (typically resize, prime, and this seating/crimping die).
The floating bullet guide is reversible. When installed one way, you seat only; unthread and reinstall it in the opposite orientation to enable simultaneous seating and crimping. This dual-function capability is exclusive to Lee's design.
The machined and burnished seating stem is designed to seat nearly any point style bullet—boat tail, spitzer, flat point—without marking or deforming the projectile.
The micrometer thimble is marked in 0.001" increments and reads just like a precision depth gauge. Combined with the floating bullet guide's alignment, this allows you to achieve consistent, repeatable seating depth to the thousandth of an inch.
