Lee Precisiom
If you're loading for the classic 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser, the Lee Precision 6.5x55mm Swedish Mauser collet neck sizing die is built on a different principle than conventional dies. Instead of pushing the case neck onto a sizing button, this die uses a collet that gently squeezes the case neck around a precision mandrel. The result is concentrically sized ammunition with minimal run-out—the kind of neck consistency that pays dividends in accuracy, whether you're fine-tuning loads on the bench or preparing ammo for hunting.
One of the practical advantages of collet sizing is that you don't need to lubricate your cases before processing them. That saves a step in your workflow and means less cleanup afterward. Because the collet method sizes more gently than conventional dies, cases can be reloaded many more times, which means your initial investment in this die pays for itself quickly if you're processing brass in any volume.
This is a neck sizing die only, so it's designed for handloaders who want to standardize just the neck dimensions while leaving the body of the case largely untouched—a common choice for bolt-action rifles where you want to maintain the snug fit a gun-specific reload provides. Lee's collet dies are a workhorse solution for shooters serious about precision and brass longevity.

No. The collet design doesn't require case lubrication, which simplifies your reloading process and eliminates the need for cleanup afterward.
This is a neck sizing die, which works best for reloaders who want to size only the neck while preserving the body dimensions. It's ideal for bolt-action rifles where you maintain gun-specific brass for a snug fit.
Collet dies squeeze the case neck around a precision mandrel for consistent, concentric sizing with minimal run-out. Because the method is gentler on brass, cases can be reloaded significantly more times, offsetting the cost of the die through extended case life.
