The Lee Full-Length 3-Die Set for .50 BMG with Large Series Thread (1-1/4"-12) is purpose-built for serious .50 BMG handloaders who run the Lee Classic Cast Press. This three-die set handles the full-length sizing, bullet seating, and factory crimp operations needed to reload .50 BMG brass—particularly useful if you're working with mixed range brass from multiple sources. Lee's Classic Cast Press was engineered specifically for the heavy pressures and robust geometry of magnum rifle cartridges, and this die set matches that design philosophy.
Reloading .50 BMG demands precision equipment and attention to detail, and this set delivers the essential operations in a straightforward package. The full-length sizing die prepares fired brass for fresh loading; the bullet seating die (without crimp function) gives you control over seating depth; and the factory crimp die applies the final crimp to ensure bullet stability. If you're already committed to the Classic Cast platform, this is the direct path to consistent, safe .50 BMG ammunition.
Note that the set is sized to the Classic Cast Press's Large Series thread specification. If you're using a different press with a removable bushing, a die adapter bushing (sold separately) can bridge the thread difference. You'll also need a .50 BMG shell holder, which is sold separately. The set arrives with printed reloading data to get you started.
| Cartridge | .50 BMG |
| Thread Type | Large Series (1-1/4"-12) |
| Dies Included | 3: Full-Length Sizing, Bullet Seating (no crimp), Factory Crimp |
| Press Compatibility | Lee Classic Cast Press only |
| Manufacturer | Lee Precision |
No—this set is threaded specifically for the Lee Classic Cast Press (Large Series, 1-1/4"-12 thread). If you use a different press with a removable bushing, Lee offers a die adapter bushing to convert the thread size, but that is sold separately.
The bullet seating die focuses on seating depth only, giving you full control over how deep the bullet goes. The separate factory crimp die applies the crimp in a second operation, allowing you to adjust crimp independently of seating depth—useful for consistency when working with mixed brass or varying bullet profiles.
A .50 BMG shell holder is required and sold separately. You'll also need the Lee Classic Cast Press, .50 BMG brass, bullets, powder, primers, and an appropriate scale or powder measure. The set includes printed reloading data to guide your loads.
The set works with any .50 BMG brass. It's specifically recommended for mixed range brass because full-length sizing will normalize brass from multiple sources to consistent dimensions before reloading.
