Lee Precisiom
The Lee Precision Factory Crimp Rifle Die for .270 Winchester is a specialized reloading tool that clamps your finished cartridges with precision after you've seated the bullet. Unlike conventional crimp dies, this tool uses a collet design that squeezes the case mouth firmly into the bullet's crimp groove, creating a mechanical lock that significantly improves round-to-round consistency. If you reload ammunition for hunting or precision rifle work, a solid crimp matters: it ensures pressure builds uniformly before the bullet moves, which translates to tighter velocity spreads and more predictable downrange performance.
Lee's factory crimp approach works even on bullets without traditional crimp grooves, making it versatile for shooters who aren't limited to specialized ammunition components. The die threads into any reloading press with a standard 7/8"-14 mounting system, so it integrates seamlessly into your existing setup. It's the final quality-control step that separates careful handloads from mediocre ones—the kind of detail that separates sub-MOA groups from wild flyers.
This is a no-nonsense tool for serious reloaders who understand that ammunition consistency compounds over hundreds of rounds. Whether you're prepping match ammo for the range or loading hunting rounds for .270 Winchester rifles, the factory crimp die rewards attention to process with measurable improvements in accuracy.

Yes, if your press has a standard 7/8"-14 threaded mounting hole. This includes most Lee, RCBS, Hornady, and other major press models used by home reloaders.
The die itself does not include a shellholder. You'll need to source one separately if you don't already have .270 Winchester shellholders in your reloading kit.
Yes. The collet design will still apply a firm crimp to the case mouth even on bullets without a traditional crimp groove, which can improve consistency compared to no crimp at all.
The factory crimp die is the final step, used after you've completed all other reloading operations including bullet seating. It crimps the case mouth to lock the bullet in place.
