The Lee Precision Pro 1000 Shell Plate #1 is a quick-change caliber conversion accessory built for reloaders who work with .38 Special and .357 Magnum on the Pro 1000 progressive press. If you're running multiple handgun calibers on the same platform, swapping shell plates without breaking out tools keeps your reloading sessions moving. This plate handles the small-primer cases common to these popular revolver rounds, letting you shift from one caliber family to another in seconds.
One of the real conveniences here is the tool-free swap design — no wrenches, no hex keys, no fussy adjustments. Drop the current plate out and lock the new one in. That efficiency matters when you're processing cases by the hundreds. Keep in mind that if you're planning to load a different primer size (large primer, for example), you'll need the separate Primer Attachment to make that transition on the Pro 1000.
The Pro 1000 shell plate system is central to the press's flexibility, so having a dedicated plate for your primary handgun rounds means less downtime between caliber changes. Whether you're a high-volume .357 Magnum loader or you split time between both .38 and .357, this plate clips into your existing Pro 1000 setup and gets to work right away.
