Lead & Steel Llc
The Lead & Steel Llc LS556GOV-MID-13.9 is a 5.56mm rifle barrel built to government profile specs, designed for shooters who want a mid-length option that plays well with standard AR platform builds. At 13.9 inches, this barrel delivers a practical balance between velocity, handling, and modularity—short enough for tight shooting lanes and vehicle work, long enough to keep 5.56 energy honest downrange. The government profile keeps things classic: it's what you'll find on countless duty rifles and proven builds, so parts compatibility is straightforward and aftermarket support is endless.
The M4 feed ramps cut into this barrel mean reliable feeding with standard AR magazines and ammunition—no surprises, no unreliable extraction. If you're swapping barrels on an existing lower receiver or building a new upper from the ground up, this is a no-nonsense foundation that works with the vast majority of AR-15 components and ammunition on the market. Whether you're setting up a short-range truck gun, a home-defense rifle, or just want a handy mid-length upper to rotate into your collection, the straightforward design and proven profile make this a solid choice.
Lead & Steel Llc barrels are built for real use—hunting, range time, training, or any mission that demands a reliable 5.56 shooter. This one's no-frills engineering: government profile, M4 feed ramps, and 5.56 chambering are time-tested features that keep the focus on accuracy and function rather than trend-chasing.

| Feed Ramps | M4 |
Yes. The government profile is the standard barrel profile used on most AR platform rifles, and the M4 feed ramps are designed to feed reliably with typical AR-15 magazines and 5.56 ammunition.
Government profile barrels maintain a larger diameter for most of their length compared to lighter profiles, providing more steel and heat capacity. They're the classic choice found on mil-spec builds and are compatible with a wider range of handguards and accessories.
At 13.9 inches, this barrel is well-suited to mid-length gas systems and compact-profile AR builds, offering manageable length without sacrificing too much velocity from the 5.56 cartridge.
M4 feed ramps are the angled cuts at the chamber end of the barrel that guide ammunition from the magazine into the chamber. M4 ramps are the standard on modern AR-15s and ensure reliable feeding with standard AR magazines and ammunition.
