Lancer Systems
The Lancer Systems L5AWM Gen2 10-round magazine in .223 Remington is a modern take on the AR-platform rifle mag—built with a tough polymer body reinforced by hardened steel feed lips, paired with a stainless steel spring and an anti-tilt follower. Lancer engineered this magazine to handle what shooters actually throw at it: sustained fire, temperature swings, aggressive handling, and long-term loaded storage, all without degradation. It's the kind of workhorse magazine trusted by military and law enforcement professionals, but it scales down to hunters, competition shooters, and serious sport shooters running AR-15s and compatible modern rifles.
The Gen2 iteration refines what was already a solid design. You get a redesigned feed lip geometry that cuts insertion force by roughly 22 percent—meaning smoother, more reliable seating on a closed bolt, especially when you're running a fresh mag in a loaded rifle. The smoke-tinted translucent polymer body includes molded round-count witness marks, so you know your load status at a glance without dropping the mag. At just 3.8 ounces, it's significantly lighter than competing polymer options, which matters if you're carrying multiple mags all day. Drop tests show it outlasts the competition—surviving 122 percent more concrete impacts than comparable magazines—without sacrificing that weight advantage.
Lancer rates this magazine across an extreme temperature envelope (–40°F to +180°F) and designs to military durability standards, so whether you're running it in a desert heat or cold-weather training scenario, the performance stays consistent. The whole thing is designed, manufactured, and assembled in the USA, which means quality control and support you can count on. If your rifle chambers .223 Rem or 5.56 NATO and feeds from standard AR-pattern mags—whether it's an AR-15, M4, or modern sporting rifle—this L5AWM Gen2 will fit and feed reliably.

That includes AR-15s, M4s, M16s, SCAR16, HK416, SIG MCX, SIG 556, IWI Tavor, and other AR-platform and modern sporting rifles. If your rifle accepts standard AR mags, this one will fit and feed reliably.
At 3.8 ounces, the L5AWM Gen2 is up to 36% lighter than other leading polymer magazine options on the market. If you're carrying multiple mags, that weight savings adds up over a full day at the range or in the field.
Yes. The anti-tilt follower paired with the stainless steel spring is specifically engineered to handle extended loaded storage without performance degradation. The high-strength polymer body and hardened steel feed lips also resist deformation, cracking, or bending even under long-term pressure.
The translucent smoke finish includes molded round-count witness marks molded into the body, giving you an instant visual indication of how many rounds are loaded in the magazine without having to remove it from the rifle or pouch.
