L.E. Wilson
The L.E. Wilson Fired Case Pistol Holder in .45 ACP is a specialized reloading accessory designed to work with the Wilson case trimmer, giving you precision case preparation for handloaded .45 Auto ammunition. Unlike generic case holders, this tool is purpose-built for straight-wall pistol cases that have minimal body taper—a feature that demands a different approach than traditional rifle case trimming. If you're serious about consistent case length and reliable crimping, this holder addresses a real need in the handloading process.
The holder is constructed similarly to a neck sizing die and is made longer than the cases themselves, allowing you to fully seat a fired .45 ACP case without risking damage to the case mouth. The counter-bored design at the mouth end provides clearance for the trimmer's cutting tool. Cases must be firmly seated using a light arbor press or mallet—they won't simply drop in and out like rifle cases do—and must be driven or pushed out in the same manner. This requires a different technique than you might be used to, but the payoff is uniformity that translates directly to reliable crimping and better ammunition quality.
Made in the USA, the L.E. Wilson pistol case holder is a working tool for reloaders who understand that case length consistency matters. The process is slower than rifle case trimming, but the precision is worth the extra effort if you're loading match-grade or defensive ammunition. This holder is compatible with the Wilson case trimmer and is designed to handle fired .45 ACP cases exclusively.

This holder is designed specifically for the .45 ACP cartridge. L.E. Wilson offers similar pistol holders in other calibers (.38 Special, .357 Magnum, .40 S&W, .45 Colt, 10mm, and others), but this model is for .45 ACP only.
Yes, this pistol holder is made to be used with the Wilson case trimmer. It's a dedicated accessory for that system.
No. Unlike rifle cases, pistol cases must be firmly seated using a light arbor press or mallet and must be driven or pushed out the same way. The holder is designed this way to ensure proper alignment and prevent damage during trimming.
Pistol cases have straight walls and minimal taper, so they require the holder to work like a sizing die. This approach takes more time than the faster in-and-out method used for tapered rifle cases, but it delivers better uniformity for critical reloading applications.
