L.E. Wilson
A L.E. Wilson case gage for 6/6.5 Creedmoor is an essential tool for reloaders who want to avoid the most common setup mistake: oversizing fired brass. This one-piece gage lets you verify case dimensions quickly and accurately, ensuring your full-length resizing dies are adjusted correctly before you process a batch of ammo. By catching headspace and overall length issues early, you protect case life and maintain the precision your rifle demands.
The tool works by hand—drop a fired case into the gage and measure it against a caliper to check overall length and datum-to-head length. This tells you whether cases need trimming and confirms your sizing is holding headspace within safe limits. Unlike the adjustable style gages built for belted magnums, this regular configuration is straightforward: insert, measure, adjust your die if needed, and get consistent results across your brass. It's a small investment that catches expensive mistakes before they happen.
L.E. Wilson gages have long been the standard among serious handloaders because they're simple, precise, and purpose-built. If you're running a consistent reloading operation for 6/6.5 Creedmoor—whether you're loading for hunting, competition, or the range—this gage belongs in your kit.

Yes. The gage itself gives you the reference dimensions; you measure your fired cases against the gage using a standard dial or digital caliper to determine if trimming or die adjustment is needed.
This is the regular (non-adjustable) style designed for standard cartridges like 6/6.5 Creedmoor. L.E. Wilson makes a separate adjustable gage for belted magnums, which accounts for the belt's role in headspace support.
It measures overall length (to flag cases that need trimming) and datum-to-head length (to confirm your resizing die is set properly and not oversizing brass). These two checks prevent the most common reloading errors and help extend case life.
Yes—that's exactly what it's for. Drop in a fired case, measure it with a caliper against the gage dimensions, and you'll know whether your full-length resizing setup is holding the correct headspace.
