L.E. Wilson
The L.E. Wilson 284 Winchester bullet seating die is built for reloaders who demand benchrest-grade accuracy from their ammunition. Unlike conventional seating dies, this chamber-type seater uses precision capture to align both the bullet and cartridge case before seating, resulting in dramatically lower runout and more consistent rounds downrange. If you're loading for a precision rifle or looking to improve your reloading setup, this die delivers the kind of control that separates good ammo from great ammo.
The chamber-type design is the key to Wilson's reputation among serious handloaders. Your case and bullet are fully captured and positioned by the die itself before the close-fitting seating stem pushes the bullet straight into the case mouth. This alignment advantage over standard 7/8-inch by 14 TPI seaters translates to tighter bullet seating depth, lower case runout, and more uniform cartridges. It's the same approach trusted by benchrest competitors where every tenth of an inch matters.
Built entirely from stainless steel, this die is made to last through thousands of rounds. Seating depth adjusts via cap screw (3/8-inch by 24 TPI) so you can fine-tune your loads with precision. The die ships with a seater base, allen wrench, and instructions, everything you need to integrate it into your reloading press.

A chamber-type die captures and aligns both the bullet and cartridge case before seating begins, ensuring the bullet enters the case mouth straight and consistent. Standard 7/8-inch by 14 TPI seaters don't provide this alignment control, which leads to higher runout and variation in finished rounds. The Wilson design consistently produces lower runout, which translates to tighter groups and more reliable ballistics.
We don't have compatibility details for specific press models. Contact the manufacturer or our team to confirm fit with your reloading setup.
Yes. Seating depth adjusts via a cap screw with 3/8-inch by 24 TPI threads, giving you precise control over how deep the bullet seats into the case.
