A quality bore jag is one of those often-overlooked cleaning tools that actually makes a real difference downrange. The KleenBore JAG229 Precision Jag for 9mm/.38/.357 caliber handguns is built to handle the core job: holding a cleaning patch firmly in place while you scrub your bore clean. The barbed point design grips your patch—whether dry or saturated with solvent—so it won't slip or bunch up mid-stroke. If you're serious about handgun maintenance, a precision jag beats fumbling with loose patches that shift and tear.
This jag threads onto any standard cleaning rod with 8-32" American Standard threads, the common metric for most handgun cleaning kits. KleenBore has been making cleaning gear in the USA for decades, and their barbed-point design is an exclusive feature you won't find on every generic jag. It's a small detail, but it means faster, more thorough cleaning—especially if you're running your 9mm or .38/.357 regularly at the range or in the field.
Whether you're a competitive shooter keeping your carry gun spotless, a hunter maintaining your handgun between seasons, or someone who simply respects their tools enough to clean them properly, this jag fits into any serious gun maintenance routine. Pair it with a quality cleaning rod and you've got the foundation of a basic but effective bore-cleaning system.

Yes, as long as your cleaning rod uses 8-32" American Standard threads, which is the common metric for handgun cleaning rods. Check your rod's threading before ordering if you're unsure.
The JAG229 is sized for 9mm, .38, and .357 caliber handguns. If you shoot a different caliber, you'll need a jag matched to that bore diameter.
The barbed design grabs your cleaning patch and holds it firmly in place as you push it through the bore. This prevents the patch from slipping or bunching up, which means more consistent contact with the bore walls and faster, more thorough cleaning.
Yes. The barbed point will hold a patch whether you're using it dry or saturated with solvent, giving you flexibility in your cleaning routine.
