Kleen-Bore
The Kleen-Bore ClayMate is a purpose-built cleaning tool designed to keep your shotgun firing clean between rounds at the range or in the field. Built specifically for 12 and 16 gauge shotguns, this tool pairs a phosphor bronze bore brush with synthetic cleaning fibers that work together to lift and trap fouling without requiring a full tear-down. Whether you're running clay courses, hunting upland birds, or just putting in trigger time, the ClayMate lets you maintain your gun's bore quickly and efficiently without breaking rhythm.
The real advantage here is speed and reusability. The synthetic fibers capture the debris loosened by the brush, while the brass fitting ensures the brush stays put and won't accumulate gunk in the threads. No lost or bent brushes, no frustration—just grab it, run it through, and get back to shooting. At 38 inches working length, it reaches the full bore without any gymnastics.
Built to last, the ClayMate is washable and reuseable, so you're not buying a new tool every season. The brass #10-32 thread adapter lets it integrate with standard #5/16-27 rod threads, making it compatible with most common shotgun cleaning rod setups you likely already own.
| Gauge Compatibility | 12 and 16 gauge |
| Working Length | 38 inches |
| Thread Adapter | #10-32 brass (accepts #5/16-27 threads) |
| Brush Material | Phosphor bronze with synthetic fibers |
| Reusable | Yes—washable |
Yes. The #10-32 brass adapter is designed to accept standard #5/16-27 threaded rods, so it should fit most common shotgun cleaning rod setups you already have.
Yes. The ClayMate is sized and threaded for both 12 and 16 gauge shotguns.
The ClayMate is fully washable and reusable, so you can clean it between sessions and use it season after season.
The combination of the phosphor bronze brush and synthetic fibers works together to loosen and trap fouling more effectively than a patch alone, making it faster and more thorough for between-round cleaning at the range or in the field.
