The Kershaw Outlier 2.6" Blackwash folding knife is a compact EDC blade built around a hawkbill design that delivers both tactical appeal and genuine utility. If you carry a folding knife for everyday cutting tasks—from opening packages to field prep—the Outlier's curved blade profile excels at slicing and detail work in tight spaces. The blackwash finish on the blade and steel hardware gives it a refined, non-reflective look that works equally well on a job site or in a professional setting.

What sets this Kershaw apart is its flexibility in hand. The steel backspacer includes jimping (textured grooves) that accommodates multiple grip styles, whether you're using a standard forward grip or a reverse grip with the integrated steel ring. The ring itself is blackwash-finished to match the blade, and the jimped backspacer ensures your thumb or finger catches securely regardless of how you position the knife. For carry, the reversible deep-carry pocket clip works both right and left, tip-up, so you can configure it to match your pocket orientation and drawing style.

Speed matters in an EDC knife. The Outlier opens via assisted mechanism and can be deployed with either the flipper or thumb stud, getting the blade out fast when you need it. A liner lock holds the blade securely open during use, and the gray textured handle provides solid control without the slip that comes with smooth synthetics. Black steel hardware throughout—pivot nut, screws, and clip—maintains the cohesive blackwash aesthetic and resists corrosion.

This is a knife built for people who use their tools, not just carry them. Compact enough for any pocket, distinctive enough to stand out, and engineered to work hard in real conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the Outlier good for EDC carry?

The 2.6-inch hawkbill blade is compact enough to fit any pocket without bulk, while the blackwash finish keeps it subdued and professional-looking. The reversible deep-carry pocket clip works right or left, and the blade deploys instantly via flipper or thumb stud. It's sized and finished for everyday carry in any environment.

Can I use the Outlier with a reverse grip?

Yes. The steel backspacer includes jimping that lets you achieve a secure reverse grip with or without using the integrated steel ring. The textured grooves ensure your thumb or finger catches firmly in this orientation.

What's included with the knife?

The Kershaw Outlier comes as a complete folding knife with the blade, handle, steel ring, jimped backspacer, reversible pocket clip, and all hardware (pivot nut, screws, and clip) in blackwash finish. It includes a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Is the pocket clip adjustable for different carry positions?

Yes. The reversible deep-carry pocket clip works in both right and left hand carry, with tip-up orientation, so you can configure it to match your dominant hand and preferred pocket draw.
