The Kershaw 1555TI Cryo is a collaboratively designed folding knife that brings Rick Hinderer's real-world expertise into an affordable everyday carry platform. With a 2.75" drop point blade in 8Cr13MoV stainless steel and a gray titanium carbo-nitride coated handle, this is a workhorse EDC blade that doesn't require deep pockets. Designed for users who want tactical aesthetics and reliable performance without compromise, the Cryo delivers the kind of no-fuss durability that works equally well on the job site, in the field, or on your belt during daily errands.

The 8Cr13MoV steel represents excellent value in a hard-use blade. It's right in the class of AUS-8, with a carbon content around 0.8% and 13% chromium that Kershaw heat-treats to a proven HRC 58–60. This particular steel holds an edge well, hones cleanly without fuss, and handles the cutting tasks that make up real work. The drop point geometry is a classic choice for hunters and working professionals: the convex spine carries forward strength all the way to the tip, centering the point on the knife's axis and eliminating unnecessary lateral momentum during puncturing cuts.

Where the Cryo earns its place in a working rotation is its deployment speed. Kershaw's SpeedSafe assisted mechanism—accessed via either the flipper tab or thumbstud—opens the blade one-handed and ready to work. The frame lock with lockbar stabilization ensures the blade stays put under load, so you're not managing flex or wiggle when it counts. Gray titanium carbo-nitride coating adds corrosion resistance and a durable finish that suits the design. A pocket clip is included, making secure carry straightforward. Whether you're cutting rope, breaking down boxes, or handling kitchen or camp tasks, the Cryo is sized just right for serious everyday carry without bulk.
