The Kershaw 1025X Cinder is a compact folding knife built for everyday carry and EDC tasks without the bulk of a full-size blade. At just 1.40 inches, this drop point folder hangs light on your keychain or pack yet still delivers genuine cutting capability for the jobs that matter—opening packages, breaking down boxes, and handling field tasks where a dedicated knife beats fumbling with your fingers. Designed by Rick Hinderer, a name synonymous with practical, no-nonsense knife engineering, the Cinder punches well above its weight class.

The real trick with a small knife is the grip, and Hinderer solved it by positioning the handle so your hand naturally wraps forward past the pivot point, giving you a solid three-finger grip even on a micro blade. The black glass-filled nylon handle is textured for traction and built with a liner lock for secure, reliable closure. The stonewashed plain blade not only looks intentional and purposeful—it also hides the scratches that come with real use. A large lanyard hole makes attachment to your keychain simple, and yes, there's a bottle opener built into the back end for those moments when you need it.

Kershaw manufactures the Cinder with the same precision fit and finish they've built their reputation on. This is a knife that understands its role: stay out of the way until you need it, then get the job done without complaint.

The upswept drop point design gives you more usable cutting edge than you'd expect from the overall size, and the grip—positioned so your hand wraps forward past the pivot—lets you apply real pressure without your fingers sliding off.

What kind of grip can I expect with such a small handle?

Rick Hinderer designed this knife so your hand naturally comes forward past the pivot point, enabling a full three-finger grip. The black glass-filled nylon handle is textured for traction, so even in wet or gloved conditions, you maintain solid control.

Does it come with the key ring?

Yes, the Cinder includes a key ring and features a large lanyard hole, making attachment to your keychain, pack, or belt simple and secure.

How durable is the liner lock on such a small knife?
