Kagwerks
If you run a Glock Gen 5 and want to fine-tune your grip and control, the Kagwerks Extended & Raised Slide Release is a no-nonsense upgrade worth considering. This handgun part moves your slide release lever higher and extends it forward, letting you position your support hand higher on the frame. That higher grip translates to better control and potentially faster, more reliable shooting—whether you're at the range, in a competition, or training for defensive use.
The extended geometry also makes the release itself easier to manipulate during reloads. Instead of fishing for a tiny lever, you get an intuitive, ergonomic control that your thumb can find and operate without breaking your grip. For serious shooters who've felt limited by the stock Glock slide release, this small change can feel like a major refinement.
Installation is straightforward—no gunsmithing required—and the part is purpose-built for Glock Gen 5 frames. If you're already dialing in your pistol setup, this kind of tactical accessory pairs well with other performance upgrades and is a popular choice among shooters who want every advantage during reload drills and high-stress shooting scenarios.
Yes—the Kagwerks Extended & Raised Slide Release is specifically designed for Glock Gen 5 pistols. Confirm your frame generation before ordering, as it is not compatible with earlier Gen models.
No. This is a drop-in replacement for the factory slide release lever and can be installed by the end user without special tools or gunsmithing.
The raised profile allows you to position your support hand higher on the grip, improving overall frame control and consistency. The extended lever also makes reloads faster and more reliable by reducing the fine motor control needed to find and operate the release.
Yes. The slide release is a standard aftermarket handgun part with no legal restrictions in the United States. Always verify your local and state firearms laws.
