The IFG Pedersoli 1874 Sharps Old West Maple .45-70 rifle brings authentic single-shot heritage to the modern hunter and black-powder enthusiast. Built on the legacy of 19th-century gunsmiths who refined the Sharps action into a reliable workhorse, this 30-inch barreled rifle delivers the stopping power and precision that made the .45-70 legendary across the American frontier and beyond. Whether you're pursuing big game, competing in long-range rifle matches, or building a historically inspired firearms collection, the 1874 Sharps offers the solid mechanics and character that modern production rifles often lack.
The Maple stock provides a striking visual contrast to the blued steel components and lends authentic period aesthetics without sacrificing durability. Brass furniture adorns the rifle—forearm wedge plates and butt hardware—while the case-hardened steel pistol grip cap adds a touch of refinement typical of quality Sharps builds. The right side of the buttstock features a blank engraving plate, inviting personalization to mark the rifle as truly yours. The 6-groove barrel with a 1:18 twist is purpose-built for the .45-70 cartridge, delivering consistent accuracy and reliable performance at distance.
At 11.46 pounds and 48 1/16 inches overall, the rifle balances manageable carry weight with the sight radius and barrel length needed for precision work. The open Sharps action allows installation of premium aftermarket sights—though Creedmoor and tunnel sights are sold separately—giving you the flexibility to outfit the rifle for your specific shooting discipline, whether that's hunting, silhouette, or long-range target work.
