The Howard Leight R01520 Smart Fit corded foam ear plugs deliver 25 dB noise reduction in a design built for shooters and hunters who need reliable, stay-in-place protection during long range sessions or field days. The behind-the-neck cord keeps your plugs tethered and accessible—no more fishing around for a lost earpiece. This two-pair pack gives you backups and lets you keep one set in your range bag while another stays in your go-bag.

What sets these apart is the Conforming Material Technology: the foam responds to your body heat and gradually shapes itself to fit your ear canal, rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all plug into your head. That adaptive fit means they settle in more comfortably over time and stay put during movement—crucial when you're mounting a rifle, moving between firing positions, or hiking rough terrain. The orange ear buds and blue cord are easy to spot when you need to insert or remove them fast.

Howard Leight has built a reputation for hearing protection that doesn't require a break-in period or constant reinsertion. If you've fought with rigid foam plugs that fall out or soft plugs that never quite seal right, the Smart Fit design bridges that gap. At 25 dB NRR, they deliver solid attenuation for centerfire rifles, shotguns, and live-fire ranges while still allowing you to hear range commands and low-level ambient sound—important when you're hunting or training alongside others.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do these ear plugs work well for shooting rifle and shotgun?

Yes. At 25 dB NRR, these plugs are rated for use during centerfire rifle and shotgun shooting, as well as at live-fire ranges and hunting applications. Always pair any hearing protection with eye protection on the range.

Will the corded design stay secure while hunting or moving around?

Yes. The behind-the-neck cord keeps the plugs tethered so they won't be lost if you remove them temporarily. The Conforming Material Technology helps them stay seated in your ear even during movement, but the cord ensures you won't misplace them if one shifts.

What does Conforming Material Technology mean?

The foam is designed to warm up and mold to the shape of your individual ear canal using your body heat. This creates a custom fit over time rather than forcing you into a rigid, one-size-fits-all earpiece, which can improve comfort and retention during extended wear.

How many pairs am I getting?

The pack includes two pairs, so you can keep one set ready in your gear while stashing backups or cycling them for cleaning and maintenance.
