Hornady
The Hornady Lock-N-Load Iron Press Powder Measure Attachment is the metal bracket that bridges your progressive press to the company's quick-change powder measure system. If you're running a Hornady Iron Press and want to leverage the flexibility of interchangeable metering inserts and rotors, this attachment is what locks it all together. It's the connector that lets you swap powder measures with a push of a button rather than breaking down your setup every time you change caliber.
The Iron Press itself is engineered to be the heaviest and most rigid progressive press in its class, and tight manufacturing tolerances keep shot-to-shot consistency tight. Pair that press frame with this attachment and Hornady's modular powder measure system, and you can load everything from light pistol rounds (.5-grain charges) to heavy magnum rifle loads (up to 265 grains) simply by swapping inserts and rotors. That flexibility matters if your reloading bench covers multiple cartridges and you don't want to buy separate powder measures for each one.
This attachment arrives with a rifle rotor and metering insert included, so you're ready to start measuring rifle powder right away. Pistol rotor and additional inserts are sold separately if you plan to load handgun ammo down the road. It's a straightforward piece—a bracket that does one job reliably—but it's the key that unlocks the modularity Hornady built into their powder measure line.
The attachment comes with a rifle rotor and metering insert. If you plan to load pistol ammunition, you'll need to purchase the pistol rotor and inserts separately.
This attachment is designed specifically to work with the Hornady Iron Press. Compatibility with other press models is not documented in the product specs.
The system can handle powder charges from 0.5 grains up to 265 grains, depending on which rotor and metering insert you're using. You'll need the appropriate insert and rotor for the cartridge you're loading.
No. The Lock-N-Load Powder Measure system lets you swap metering inserts and rotors with a push of a button, so a single measure can handle multiple calibers. You just change the insert and rotor—no need for multiple measures.
