Hornady
The Hornady Lock-N-Load AP Progressive Press Shell Plate #19 is a caliber-specific cartridge holder designed for reloaders running Hornady's Lock-N-Load AP progressive press. If you're scaling up your handloading operation or switching between calibers on the same press, shell plates let you swap between different cartridge families without swapping the entire turret—just drop in the correct plate, lock it down, and you're ready to work. Shell plate #19 accommodates multiple calibers that share the same case head dimensions, so it may cover more than one cartridge family depending on your reload needs.
Hornady's Lock-N-Load system is built on interchangeable components, and the shell plate is one of the most frequently swapped parts of any progressive press setup. The #19 plate works with both EZ-Ject and wire ejector models of the Lock-N-Load AP, as well as Pro-Jector presses. If your press is an older model with the spring-type cartridge case ejector system, you'll need Hornady's Auto press retrofit kit (part 749-012-552) to use current shell plates—a detail worth confirming before you order if you've had your press for several years.
For serious reloaders, having multiple shell plates on hand for your most-used calibers cuts setup time and lets you switch loads without disturbing your die adjustments. Whether you're prepping ammunition for hunting, competition, or the range, this is a straightforward, reliable way to expand your press's versatility.
