Hornady
Reloaders after a proven, versatile bullet for 6.5mm/.264 caliber rifles will find what they're looking for in Hornady InterLock 160 grain round-nose bullets. This box of 100 delivers the controlled expansion and reliable terminal performance that have made InterLock a standard choice for hunters and precision shooters building ammunition for everything from whitetail to elk at mid-range and longer distances.
The InterLock design centers on a simple but effective mechanical principle: a raised ring embedded in the bullet's core locks the jacket and core together as the bullet expands on impact. This core-and-jacket bond is reinforced by a cannelure that not only aids in consistent crimping but also works with the InterLock ring to keep the bullet integrated during expansion. The result is reliable mass retention and energy transfer downrange, even when velocity varies or shots stretch beyond typical hunting ranges.
The 160 grain round-nose profile pairs a secant ogive—a ballistically efficient nose design—with a tapered jacket of precisely controlled thickness. Inner grooves strategically weaken the upper jacket section to ensure expansion remains consistent whether you're pushing these bullets to the lower end of the velocity spectrum or running them at the upper recommended limit. The combination of bearing surface and slender point yields the accuracy and flat trajectory that reloaders expect from modern rifle ammunition components.
Whether you're tuning loads for a 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5×55 Swedish, or another .264 platform, these InterLocks work across the recommended velocity window and reward consistent hand-loading with tight groups and dependable field performance.
| Caliber | 6.5mm/.264 |
| Weight | 160 grains |
| Bullet Style | Round Nose (RN) |
| Quantity per Box | 100 |
| Recommended Muzzle Velocity Range | 2,000–3,300 fps |
These are .264 caliber bullets, so they'll work in any rifle chambered for 6.5mm—including 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5×55 Swedish, .260 Remington, and similar cartridges. Always verify that your specific rifle accepts .264 diameter bullets.
Hornady recommends a muzzle velocity range of 2,000 to 3,300 fps. The InterLock design maintains consistent expansion across this window, so you'll get reliable performance whether you're loading conservatively or pushing toward the upper end of safe velocity for your rifle and powder combination.
Yes. The InterLock design is specifically engineered for controlled expansion and terminal performance on game. The 160 grain weight is a solid, versatile choice for medium to larger game at mid-range and longer distances, depending on your rifle's chambering and your load development.
You get 100 loose bullets ready for hand-loading. No primers, powder, or brass are included—just the bullets themselves.
