Hornady
If you're loading 9mm for competition shooting, Hornady HAP (Hornady Action Pistol) handgun bullets in .355" 115-grain are purpose-built for the demands of the match stage. Unlike defensive rounds designed for expansion, HAP bullets optimize for what action pistol shooters actually need: reliable feeding, consistent accuracy, and clean targets. This bulk pack of 3,000 rounds gives you quantity for serious practice and match prep without the reloading headaches.
The design philosophy is straightforward: remove what doesn't matter in competition and perfect what does. Hornady's engineers stripped out the serrations found on their XTP design—serrations help expand hunting bullets, but in a competition context they're just potential jams waiting to happen. The result is a sleek, balanced projectile with a protected nose that feeds reliably through autoloading pistols shot after shot. That nose protection also means no exposed lead, which keeps your magazines clean and your pistol running smooth when speed counts.
Every bullet in the pack starts with a gilding metal jacket built to tolerances that the industry rarely matches, combined with a swaged lead core that's been cold-formed from pure lead. That core process—swaging instead of casting—delivers the consistency and balance that competitive shooters feel downrange as tight groups and predictable performance. Whether you're loading for IPSC, USPSA, or just serious practice that mimics match conditions, this bulk quantity means you can spend more time shooting and less time worrying about component supply.
Reloading for competition is about repeatability and confidence. These bullets support both.
| Caliber | 9mm |
| Bullet Diameter | .355" |
| Weight | 115 grains |
| Count per Box | 3,000 |
| Jacket Material | Gilding metal |
| Core Material | Swaged pure lead |
HAP bullets are specifically engineered for competition shooting where expansion isn't required. For defensive or hunting applications, Hornady's XTP bullets (which retain the serrations for controlled expansion) are the better choice. Use the right bullet for your intended purpose.
Yes. The protected nose design and sleek profile are optimized for consistent feeding in semi-automatic pistols. That nose protection eliminates exposed lead that can cause feeding issues.
You receive 3,000 individual 115-grain HAP bullets in .355" diameter. Brass, primers, and powder are not included—you provide those components from your own reloading supplies.
HAP bullets start with Hornady's proven XTP design but remove the expansion-promoting serrations that aren't needed in competition. The result is a bullet optimized purely for accuracy, feeding, and consistency in action pistol matches.
