Hornady
The Hornady Custom Grade 45-70 Government bullet seater die is built for reloaders who demand reliability and precision in their handloads. This single-stage seating die handles the critical job of seating bullets to exact depth and engaging the crimp—two operations that directly affect accuracy and reliability downrange. Hornady's Custom Grade series uses select steel, heat-treated to withstand thousands of reloading cycles without wear or failure, backed by a lifetime guarantee under normal use.
The seater die includes a sliding alignment sleeve that centers the bullet, case mouth, and seating stem before the bullet enters the case. This alignment feature reduces the risk of bullet tilt or runout, helping you achieve consistent seating depth shot after shot. The built-in crimp ring can be engaged for crimping or raised and disengaged if you prefer to seat without crimp—flexibility that suits both lever-action hunters and precision rifle reloaders.
Like all Hornady dies, this seater comes installed with Hornady's double-flat die lock rings, which grip securely and resist twisting under the leverage of the press handle. You'll also get the custom plastic storage box, keeping your die organized and protected in your reloading bench setup.
