Hornady
The Hornady Custom Grade 243 Winchester bullet seating die is a precision reloading die built for rifle handloaders who demand consistency and durability. This seating die handles the critical step of placing and setting bullets to exact depth in your 243 Winchester brass—a task that directly affects accuracy and pressure consistency. Hornady's Custom Grade line uses select steel that's heat-treated for strength, and the company backs each die with a lifetime guarantee against wear or breakage under normal use.
What sets this seater die apart is its sliding alignment sleeve, which keeps the bullet, case mouth, and seater stem perfectly aligned as the bullet enters the case. This alignment feature reduces the risk of shaving jacket material or introducing runout, helping you maintain the tight tolerances that serious reloaders demand. The die also includes a built-in crimp ring you can engage for bullet retention or raise out of the way if your load doesn't call for crimping.
Like all Hornady dies, this one arrives with the popular double-flat die lock rings already installed—no hunting for the right ring or wrestling with single-flat designs that can slip under reloading press pressure. The custom plastic storage box keeps everything organized in your reloading bench setup. Whether you're loading match ammunition for the range or hunting rounds for the field, this die gives you the reliability and precision to reload with confidence.
