Hornady
The Hornady Cam-Lock Case Trimmer Pilot in .17 caliber (.172") is a precision replacement pilot for reloaders who run a Hornady Cam Lock trimmer and work with .17-caliber rifle cases. This hardened steel pilot guides cases to the correct trim length, making it an essential component when you're preparing brass for .17 Hornet, .17 Fireball, or other popular .17-caliber cartridges. If you're swapping between calibers on the same trimmer body, a dedicated pilot for each caliber keeps your setup simple and your trim lengths consistent.
Hornady's Cam-Lock system is built around interchangeable pilots, so you can outfit your trimmer for multiple calibers without buying entirely separate machines. The hardened steel construction holds up to repeated use, and the design indexes reliably in the trimmer's cam mechanism. Whether you're precision-loading for a varmint rifle or a competition .17, having the right pilot on hand prevents frustration and keeps your prep workflow moving.
This is a pilot only—not a complete trimmer. If you already own a Hornady Cam Lock Trimmer, this pilot swaps in easily to handle .17-caliber cases. If you're new to the system, you'll need the trimmer body itself, but once you have it, adding pilots for other calibers becomes inexpensive and quick.
