Hornady
If you're loading for a traditional muzzleloader or working up precision black powder loads, the Hornady 6120 .570 Diameter 228gr Black Powder Lead Balls give you the uniformity and consistency that separates good shooting from great shooting. These pure lead round balls are cold swaged to eliminate the air pockets and voids that plague cast projectiles, resulting in rounds that shoot where you aim and perform predictably downrange. Whether you're a serious black powder competitor, a hunting traditionalist, or someone who appreciates the craft of hand-loading, these balls deliver the kind of shot-to-shot consistency you can actually count on.
Hornady's swaging process produces balls that are uniform in size, weight, and roundness—no runts, no heavyweights, just matched pairs across the entire 50-pack. The smooth, round surface promotes even rotation in the bore and helps ensure that each projectile behaves the same way as the last. That uniformity is what builds confidence when you're taking a long shot or competing at the range. Pure lead construction keeps things authentic to how black powder shooting was meant to be, while the precision manufacturing keeps you competitive in the modern era.
Before you order, take a moment to verify the bore size of your rifle and confirm whether you'll be shooting these balls with a compression fit or using patching. Getting that detail right ensures flawless loading and maximum accuracy from your setup.
