The Heritage Mfg Badlander 410 bore side-by-side shotgun brings Old West charm to the field with a modern, durable design. This 28-inch barreled model combines classic aesthetics—twin triggers, tang-mounted safety, and walnut furniture—with practical features that work just as well hunting upland game or breaking clays as they do hanging above the fireplace. Built on an alloy steel frame with a black chrome finish, the Badlander stands up to wet brush, dust, and hard use without sacrificing that authentic look shooters expect from a double-barrel gun.

The 410 bore is a natural choice for young or recoil-sensitive shooters, and the extended 28-inch barrels deliver the sight radius and handling balance that make aiming and follow-up shots instinctive. A brass bead sits between the barrels, giving you a straightforward aiming reference for fast-moving targets or precise clay breaks. The break-open action is simple, reliable, and easy to unload—no slides, no levers, just point, shoot, and break the gun open.

Turkish walnut furniture and the two-position tang safety keep the controls where your hand expects them. At just over 6 pounds, it's light enough for a full day in the field but hefty enough to manage recoil and swing smoothly through a swing. The Badlander Field Model in 410 bore delivers the soul of a working shotgun without the price tag of high-end English doubles, making it an ideal first side-by-side or a fun, no-nonsense gun for anyone who appreciates honest engineering.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a 410 bore shotgun good for?

The 410 is ideal for hunting upland birds, small game, and clay targets. It produces lighter recoil than larger gauges, making it well-suited for shooters of smaller stature, young hunters gaining experience, or anyone who prefers a gentler gun. It's also a forgiving, fun choice for clay shooting at shorter to moderate ranges.

What's included with this Heritage Badlander?

The gun ships as a complete, ready-to-shoot shotgun with the walnut stock, forend, and sights assembled. Ammunition, cases, and other accessories are sold separately.

Why choose a side-by-side over other shotgun actions?

A side-by-side shotgun offers instant barrel selection via the twin triggers—choose your choke or load for each shot—and the simple break-open action is easy to reload or safely unload. The low profile and classic balance make them fast to shoulder and natural to swing, qualities that appeal to upland hunters and clay shooters alike.

Is the Badlander 410 suitable for a new shooter?

Yes. The 410 bore's light recoil and straightforward two-shot capacity make it an excellent starting gun. The break-open action is intuitive, and the tang safety is simple and reliable—no complex controls to learn.
