Henry Repeating Arms
The Henry Repeating Arms H1 Western .22 LR lever-action rifle is a timeless small-game and target shooter built on principles that have worked for over a century. With an 18.5-inch barrel and weighing just 5.25 lbs, this rifle delivers the classic lines and reliable performance of a traditional lever gun in a chambering that won't break the bank—ideal for introducing new shooters to centerfire-style handling, pest control, or casual plinking. The round blued steel barrel and American walnut furniture give it genuine character, while the straightforward mechanical design means fewer things to go wrong in the field or at the range.
The H1 Western chambers .22 LR, .22 Long, and .22 Short ammunition, holding 15 LR rounds, 17 Long, or 21 Short rounds in its tubular magazine depending on what you're feeding it. That versatility lets you match ammo to your task—hot LR loads for hunting, or quieter shorts when you want less report. The 1:16 twist rate is optimized for the .22 rimfire, and the 3/8-inch grooved receiver accepts standard scope rings if you want to upgrade from the factory sights, though the fully adjustable semi-buckhorn rear and hooded front blade are genuinely functional for most shooting. At 36.5 inches overall length, it's compact enough to handle in brush but long enough to be steady offhand. The checkered pistol-grip stock and quarter-cock safety are straightforward controls that reward good habits.
Whether you're zeroing in a young shooter, managing varmints around the homestead, or enjoying accurate small-game hunting, the Henry H1 Western offers lever-action heritage without the premium price tag of centerfire rifles. It's a no-nonsense tool that will outlast its shooter if treated fairly.
